La radiación que recibe del Sol, un cuerpo de un metro cuadrado de superficie, es 1.4kW / m2, lo que se obtiene de que la distancia al sol son 150.000.000 km, lo que radía el Sol es 3.9·1026 W, y aplicando la fórmula

S = \frac{3.9 \cdot 10^{26}}{4\pi \cdot 10^9} = 1.4 \, kW/m^2
